flower workshop
We believe food is only part of the story. At Terratorry, we strive to create a space that feels warm, cozy, and alive with culture, a place where memories are made, not just meals. One of the ways we bring this vision to life is through collaboration with artists who inspire us, and who share our love for nature, creativity, and beauty.
Fresh flowers are always part of our communal table, welcoming guests with color, fragrance, and joy. But sometimes, the flowers themselves take center stage. Recently, we had the honor of hosting a flower workshop with Shirin, one of the most talented and soulful people we’ve ever met. Everything Shirin touches is transformed with her unique, elegant style: her art, her garden, her desserts, even her beautifully restored home that reflects her spirit in every detail.
A few weeks ago, she brought that magic to Terratorry. From start to finish, she orchestrated an unforgettable afternoon — organizing every detail with grace, from the staging to the tools and flowers, to the food and wine. Not everyone could manage an event so seamlessly, but Shirin made it look effortless.
We began by raising our glasses of wine in a celebratory toast, then each guest received a beautiful apron, a vase, ribbons, sponges, and every tool needed to create their own arrangement. With jazz music playing softly in the background and sunlight streaming across the table, Shirin shared her passion for flowers and nature, teaching us simple techniques to design something uniquely our own.
Of course, no Terratorry gathering is complete without food that delights the senses. For this event, we paired Shirin’s artistry with a carefully curated menu, celebrating freshness, flavor, and beauty:
Beet ravioli filled with blue cheese, dressed with fragrant basil oil. Burrata with market-fresh tomatoes, aged olive oil, and orange blossom. Creamy brie with figs, walnuts, honey, and thyme. Creamy seasoned cheese topped with olives, tarragon, orange zest, and sweet fennel flowers. Fresh tuna on crispy tortilla, finished with aged olive oil, roasted sesame, and kaffir lime. Green salad of kiwi, English peas, blackberries, avocado, arugula, and goat cheese. Watermelon bites with feta, roasted pistachio, pine nuts, and mint. Every dish was designed to not only nourish but also inspire — just like the flowers.
The atmosphere was pure magic: laughter, glowing flowers, wine glasses clinking, and the joy of sharing food and creativity. Guests not only left with their stunning floral arrangements, but also with new friendships and memories that will last.
This is what Terratorry is about: bringing people together, celebrating creativity, and nurturing connection through food, art, and culture.
We look forward to many more collaborations like this — afternoons where food, flowers, and community create something truly unforgettable.
